This paddle began as larch, salvaged from the ashes of a sawmill fire. It did not die there — it was reborn, blackened, and given a new purpose: to carry sensation instead of splinters. What survives fire does not come back soft.

The construction

Solid larch, stained black. Flat on one side — patient, waiting. On the other, the wood opens like a wound, and from that wound epoxy resin bleeds outward — rivers, pools, and thorns rising where the resin gathers thick. No two run the same course. No two ever will.

Each piece is cut by hand, shaped to the grain it was given. No templates. No two paddles share a silhouette. Fate decides how she looks in the end — that is not a flaw of the process, it is the process.

The grip

Wrapped in natural red lambskin, bound by hand-forged nails driven one at a time. Where the wood was punished, the hand is not — the grip stays soft, sure, and warm against a burned history.
